adidas has spent plenty of time in recent years rehashing classic silhouettes, and it looks as if they will continue the trend into 2019. Check out the newly updated Nite Jogger, a 70’s silhouette returning with a fresh Boost update.
adidas’ design process is a complicated affair, coming up with new sneakers on a monthly regular basis. However, their philosophy for creation has helped them stay true to their roots while pushing the envelope of what they can do. This process is best demonstrated in the brands Three Stripe logo, with each of the parallel lines representing past, present, and future. When it comes to creating new adidas sneakers, past models inform and inspire the present day shoes, which in turn will open up new doors for future silhouettes.
Today, we have a look at the next classic adidas sneaker to make its way through the gauntlet of retro design. Meet the new Nite Jogger 2019, an updated version of a classic adidas silhouette. First released in 1979, the Nite Jogger was built for visibility. Not the same sort of high-tech, high-fashion 3M visibility we think of now, but more along the lines of vibrant, eye-grabbing colors to help runners be spotted during low-light hours. The 2019 Nite Jogger stays true to the bright running origins, albeit with a much more modern look. The new silhouette appears to feature a one-piece mesh upper, supported by a stiff TPU lacing system and elastic bands around the heel. A plastic midsole clip rests around the heel of the shoe, and a full-length Boost midsole is added for maximum comfort. Though many colorways are likely to release throughout 2019, this first look at the shoe shows one neon orange pair and one subtle khaki pair with bright green highlights.
The updated adidas Nite Jogger has not yet been officially announced to the public, though a release is expected sometime in early 2019. Currently, the retail price tag is set at $130 and is likely to be available from adidas and select retailers.
