Jordan Brand is not quite done splitting classic colorways of their Air Jordan 1. After the “Homage to Home” released earlier this year, we now have a look at an athlete-exclusive “Board of Governors” in revamped blue tones.

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Homage to Home” has to be one of the strangest Jordan releases in recent memory. The new colorway was made to pay respects to Michael Jordan’s famous home team, the Chicago Bulls. To do so, Jordan Brand decided to re-release the highly sought-after “Bred” and “Chicago” colorways, albeit with a wild new twist. The shoes were split down the middle from heel to toe and then reassembled with the matching half of the other colorway. Needless to say, plenty of fans were upset by Jordan butchering one of the most beloved sneakers of all time. However, plenty more found the idea intriguing and the shoe sold out instantly at the release. Now, Jordan Brand is still playing around with the split-colored theme, however in much more limited numbers.

The new Air Jordan 1 High “Board of Governor’s” was produced extremely exclusively, so much so that only 88 pairs are currently available in the world. Our first look came from Jordan athlete Quentin Richardson, who took to social media platforms to share his latest gift from the brand. Now, thanks to Kicking It, we have a much closer look at the detailing on this new pair. First, the quality of the materials used are astoundingly good. Next, the outer heels are each adorned with Michael Jordan’s signature, as well as the aglets and insoles.

The new Air Jordan 1 High “Board of Governors” is not expected for release any time soon, thanks to the numbering on the inside. The new colorway was produced exclusively in 88 pairs and given only to Jordan Brand athletes. Check out the images below for a closer look at the funky split colorway, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more Air Jordan 1 release information.
