The Air Jordan 1 has been unstoppable this year. With almost 30 colorways released already, Jordan Brand seems to have one last pair ready to launch this year, which takes the “Chicago” Jordan 1 to a new level of detail.

The Air Jordan 1 has been on a championship like run in 2018. So far, twenty-eight unique colorways have released, from general release to NRG to limited edition collaborations. The pairs have included both classic retros and new themes, all while maintaining the originality and essence of the Jordan 1. However, it appears that Jordan Brand is not quite done with their first silhouette for the year. Earlier this month, an interesting new take on the “Chicago” Jordan 1 surfaced online in early images, with a release rumored for sometime in December.

Jordan Brand has made no announcement as to the existence of this new “Chicago” 1, though the internet hardly needs any information to begin speculating. Currently, our favorite theory is the Spider-Man tie-in. Next month, a new animated Spider-Man movie will release, and while this usually is no cause for a limited sneaker, this movie is different. Animated to look like a comic book, the movie’s main character, Miles Morales, has been seen exclusively rocking a pair of “Chicago” Jordan 1’s in each trailer. While there is no direct link visible, the blue tongue tab, spotted red overlays, and clear outsole could all be done to make the shoe appear comic book-like, or at the very least are a nod to the web crawler’s simple color scheme.

The latest Air Jordan 1 High to surface this year has a tentative release date of December 14th, though this has not been confirmed by the brand. The retail price will likely remain somewhere in the $160 dollar range, though without any official announcement this is subject to change. While we are currently unsure of any meaning behind the shoe, the link to the latest Spider-Man movie is the best we have so far.
