Since meeting in New York City nearly a decade ago, Carmelo Anthony and rag & bone Co-Founder and CEO Marcus Wainwright have formed a close friendship centered around their love for fashion. Anthony has starred in numerous rag & bone campaigns, and now they’ve become official design partners on a Jordan Brand collaboration capsule.

Sneakerheads since their youth, Anthony and Wainwright wanted to approach their collaboration differently than most. Rather than choosing an earlier retro model, the duo decided on the Air Jordan 20, a silhouette they both agreed is underrated. “I think that it was a bit ahead of its time, but the shoe was always cool,” says Anthony. “This is a shoe I liked when I saw it, but it didn’t get its fair moment. I wanted to bring it back, rework it and re-introduce it to the market.”

Wainwright shared Anthony’s sentiment and was careful to balance rag & bone’s design philosophy with Anthony’s personal style, while still honoring the shoe’s original look. “I wanted to take something that was essentially iconic, but make it current, maintain the originality of it,” Wainwright says.

In addition to the new Air Jordan 20, which features a Flyknit upper, a run of 100% cotton tee-shirts will also be sold by Jordan Brand and rag & bone. Each tee-shirt will carry the rag & bone, Jumpman and Melo branding and will be available in two color ways – black featuring rag & bone’s exclusive camo print and an army version with a pop-orange neck tape along the back collar.

The rag & bone X Jordan Brand X Melo capsule will be available online and in select rag & bone and Jordan retail locations worldwide.

To complement the Air Jordan 20 and run of tee-shirts, a five-piece rag & bone X Carmelo Anthony collection was created in true partnership with Anthony, from design inception, to finalizing the fabric selection and crafting signature details. Anthony’s passion and dedication to his sport were applied to a capsule of rag & bone essentials that are as wearable as they are functional.

Details to increase mobility and ease were specially incorporated into the capsule. Seam sealed outerwear in British woodland camo-print is constructed in water resistant nylon with stretch panels for added functionality. Tailoring, is a key component in the Yorke, a three-quarter length topcoat in Shetland wool, finished with a cashmere top collar and signature rag & bone Waterbury buttons. The hoodie is cut in 100% Japanese fleece cotton, and accentuated with pops of orange along the internal stitching, and a reflective locker loop. Two styles round out the collection with a selvedge denim pant and a modular cargo pant, both of which have adjustable features, further highlighting the functionality and versatility of the capsule.

The limited-edition capsule will be available on and at select rag & bone stores worldwide.
