The adidas Ultra Boost 2019 is the brand’s latest innovation in running, heavily modifying the previous version. Now, the Consortium sector has been handed the keys to three new colorways, each paying homage to other important adidas runners.
While the adidas Ultra Boost has received a crazy amount of attention since its debut back in 2015, it is still only the latest step in adidas’ long history of running shoes. Previously, the brand’s most famous offerings included franchises like ZX, EQT, SL, which dominated the running world throughout the 80s and 90s. Now, the team behind adidas Consortium has been given a chance to tell some history through the Ultra Boost 2019 in three unique colorways.
The adidas Consortium Ultra Boost 2019 pack is a brilliant ode to the Three Stripes’ past. Featuring three pairs, each one will be released as a regional exclusive, paying respects to the historic franchise that country or continent has a general affinity for. Yesterday, we took an early look at the European model, which covers the UB19 in a simple EQT-inspired white and green color scheme. Next, Asia’s exclusive Ultra Boost is inspired by the original colorways of the ZX9000, decking out the shoe in shades of teal, blue, gold, and red. Lastly, the United States pair is modeled after the SL80 from the early 80s, covering the shoe in a rich navy blue color accented with metallic gold.
