New Balance’s collaborative offerings were nonstop throughout 2019, and it looks like nothing is changing for the new decade. Of the several new projects announced so far this year, none stand out quite like Casablanca’s New Balance 327, coming this Fall.
The Casablanca 327 is one of the most interesting New Balance projects I’ve seen in a while. Rarely does the Boston-based footwear brand lend collaborators a chance to create their own model from scratch, largely opting for highly detailed colorways of popular models like the 99x series and 524. However, the unveiling of the 327 during Casablanca’s Paris fashion shoe was perfect. Debuted in the label’s homeland of France, the 327 takes inspiration from tennis clubs for a sporty, yet luxurious feel. Both partners lend their love of fine materials to the shoe, with the base layer constructed from a highly perforated leather, allowing your foot to breathe on the inside. The aggressive toe and mudguard as well as the heel counter are constructed from smooth suede, while an enormous “N” takes over the lateral side in a rich tumbled leather. The Casablanca x New Balance 327 has been shown in four colorways so far, each following a basic pattern. The brighter pairs feature white leather bases with either orange or green suede, while the second two come with off-white suede and either black or white New Balance “N”s.

The retail price of the brand new silhouette has yet to be unveiled, but given New Balance’s penchant for luxuriohs materials, we expect them to come in somewhere around the $180+ range.
