For the first time ever, Kyrie Irving wore/is wearing the Concepts x Nike Kyrie 5 Ikhet for tonight’s Christmas matchup between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers. Inspired by Irving’s Hamsa hand tattoo, the sneaker’s beige upper is nod to Ancient Egypt and the pyramids, while other details include grey/silver Swooshes in a chiseled finish, red tongue to symbolize the nose of the Sphinx before it decayed, followed by a contrasting purple sole to represent the sunset against the pyramids. Finishing touches consist of Egyptian hieroglyphs on each heel, and dual branding on the unique tongue shroud to complete the design.
Concepts launched the shoe first in partnership with the Celtics at TD Garden during the game. Look for the Concepts x Nike Kyrie 5 Ikhet at select Nike stores and online on December 28 for $130. Who’s picking up a pair?
