The magic of Harry Potter and the Wizarding World at large is coming to your feet. First teased late last month, California’s premier footwear brand, Vans, will be teaming up with with the world of Harry Potter to sort your feet into each of the Hogwarts houses.
If you were born sometime in the 1990s, chances are that you are aware of the Harry Potter book series and subsequent film universe. In the decades since, the legendary character and the world around him have become one of the biggest pieces of pop culture in the last 100 years. Along the way, we’ve seen just about every possible collaboration with all kinds of brands borrowing the four assorted houses of Hogwarts for their own products. Now, the global franchise created by J.K. Rowling will be teaming up with Vans for a special edition footwear release.
The Harry Potter x Vans project is almost here. This week, the California-based skate brand has shared an early look at the new collection. Made up of four of the brand’s most popular silhouettes, the collection matches one model with one of the Hogwarts houses, applying unique patterns and and materials to match. First up, Gryffindor is represented by the Sk8-Hi with pinstriped quarter panels and black suede toes. The Slytherin classic Era appears to be made from faux-snakeskin dyed in olive green and black, while the Ravenclaw Authentics comes with an all-over checkerboard print in shades of blue. Finally, in true Hufflepuff fashion, a classic black Slip-On is adorned with the Hufflepuff crest to round out the project.
The new project from Vans and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has not yet been announced for release, though the sneaker brand’s website features a landing page for future updates. The collaboration is expected to release sometime in the coming weeks, and will likely be available from both Vans and select retailers for slightly higher price points than usual.
