Vans have been a quintessential part of the skateboarding scene since their launch in 1966. Since then, they have worked closely with skaters and other brands on new products and projects, like this Independent collection of footwear & apparel, available now.

The new Independent x Vans project is a brilliant new addition to the California brand’s extensive list of collaborations this year. Described as their biggest project together ever, the new Independent x Vans collaboration features an extensive list of both footwear and apparel with the two skate label’s co-branding. The centerpiece of the project are clearly the three Vans sneakers that have been customized with the Independent Trucks logo, along with some other minor changes made to switch up the look.

The most enticing of these sneaker offerings is the TNT Advanced Prototype. Typically the signature model of Vans & Independent team rider Tony Trujillo, the TNT Advanced comes in a varoety of new materials for this release, dyed in a soft orange glow. The signature sneaker is also joined by two of Vans’ timeless classics, the Sk8-Hi in military green, and Slip-On in flat black. All three pairs in the collection feature the Independent Cross logo on the lateral midsole, as well as the hardware company’s arch logo across each heel. In addition to an UltraCush sock liner for premium comfort and support, the Independent x Vans collection sneakers feature a translucent rubber outsole dyed to match the famous Indy trucks bushings.

The apparel side of the Independent x Vans project is one of the largest to date, featuring a total of over 30 unique pieces. The project includes t-shirts, long sleeves. sweatshirts, chinos, coveralls, socks, hats, and anything else you might need for a comfortable day of skating.
