Neighborhood and adidas finally unleashed their long-anticipated collaboration on the world this year, and already the all-star duo is back to work. This time, they’re partnering with L.A. artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt for a sleek Stan Smith Boost.
Japanese streetwear label Neighborhood is well known for their high-end collaborations with adidas. As a part of the Consortium network, they have access to the best the Three Stripes has to offer, from materials to technology, right down to specialty boxes. Now, early images of a new project show that they’ve linked up with California artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt for a beautiful new Stan Smith Boost. Based in Los Angeles, Cali has a long history in the entertainment industry. Labeled as an artist, photographer, director, and blogger, Dewitt also famously worked as a nanny for Kurt Cobain, and now runs the record label Teenage Teardrops.
The adidas Stan Smith from collaborators Neighborhood and CTD is a relatively understated take on the timeless silhouette. The shoe begins with a black upper, composed entirely of a beautiful black leather. The Neighborhood logo is embossed on the lateral sides of the shoe, in their eye-catching stylized font. On the tongue of the left shoe, the image of Stan Smith has been replaced with a picture of Cali’s face under the famous “Endorsed by:” box. Finally, this silhouette is finished off with a full-length Boost midsole for premium comfort.
