The Nike Air Max 1 made a strong comeback last year, being reissued in OG colorways in an all new “Anniversary” premium format. The Swoosh will continue with the beloved model this year, adding a brand new “Watermelon” colorway to the mix.
The Nike Air Max 1 is known over the world as the first shoe to feature a visible Air Bag in the midsole. Last year’s multiple iterations of the shoe saw the return of longtime fan favorites like the “Royal Blue” and “Obsidian” colorways to their true 1987 glory, using premium leathers and suede for the upper. Beginning with grey mesh underlays, this “Watermelon” iteration is also supported by supple grey leather layered over the mesh to shape the shoe. The suede panel running around the top of the midsole is dyed in a deep green color, which is matched by the Nike Air logo on the tongue. The shoe is highlighted by hits of hot pink on the Swoosh, heel logo, and on the tongue branding as well. The midsole is completed by a green Air Bag, along with a matching outsole.
