Asics and Reigning Champ will be releasing a new collaboration as we kick off the month of February. Dubbed the ASICS x Reigning Champ Vancouver Edition, the collection is inspired by the city’s Sea to Sky Corridor trails, an ascent from coastal shores to forest-covered mountains. The color palette finds nuanced beauty in an environment often deemed “gloomy”.
Highlights from the collection include the navy GEL-QUANTUM 360 5 Trail, a waterproof GEL-CUMULUS 21 G-TX in Glacier Grey, a Polartec Alpha Direct Insulated Vest, Hybrid Running Kit and Merino first layers. Five key peaks of the Corridor serve as the collection’s primary graphic, woven and printed onto select garments as topographical maps and rocky textures.
Taking a closer look at the GEL-CUMULUS 21 G-TX ($130 USD), the sneaker is an all-purpose runner that pairs waterproof GORE-TEX with Asics FLYTEFOAM technology. Details include a ripstop nylon backing with durable pull loops on the heel and reflective trim for increased visibility during evening runs and rainy-day excursions.
As for the GEL-QUANTUM 360 5 Trail ($150 USD), it is a modern trail shoe built for performance and endurance. Features designed for Vancouver’s off-roads include a full-length ripstop nylon upper and shock cordlaces for on-the-fly adjustments.
Look for the Reigning Champ x Asics Vancouver Edition Collection to release on Saturday, February 1st at reigningchamp.com, asics.com, as well as select retailers.
